No injuries as a result of the fire; only damage was to exhaust system
The Atmore Department battled a grease fire at Nett’s Kitchen around lunchtime today.
Chief Ronald Peebles said the grease fire originated above the friers, and got into the exhaust system, adding that no one was injured.
“They did a great job getting the restaurant evacuated,” Peebles said. “They had everybody out by the time we got there. Nobody got hurt, or had smoke inhalation.”
Peebles said the fire did smoke up the restaurant, and destroyed one of the hood systems.
Peebles said the fire didn’t get into the roof, but mainly stayed in the duct work from the exhaust system.
