“The officer was given a description of the vehicle, and was advised the vehicle had nearly caused several collisions with other vehicles,” McMann said. “The officer observed the vehicle traveling south on Highway 21, and conducted a traffic stop.”
McMann said the officer then made contact with the driver, Pena Sanchez.

“During the interaction with Pena Sanchez, the officer noted that Pena Sanchez was extremely confrontational and yelling about other drivers,” he said. “The officer also observed multiple empty beer cans in the vehicle as well as items that are commonly used to ingest narcotics. A K-9 officer deployed his K-9, which alerted on the vehicle.”

McMann said during a search of the vehicle, the officers discovered several grams of synthetic cannabis (spice) and recovered drug paraphernalia throughout the vehicle.

Pena Sanchez was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
