Holman Correctional Facility security guard arrested for contraband

A Holman Correctional Facility security guard was arrested March 23 on contraband, ethics violation and custodial sexual misconduct charges, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Public Information Officer Kelly Betts said in a release that Sabrina Taylor was arrested and charged with ethics violation, prohibited activities, custodial sexual misconduct and promoting prison contraband I.

Betts said the arrest stemmed during an investigation into the illegal introduction of contraband into the facility.

“The ADOC continues to combat illegal contraband being introduced to the state’s correctional facilities, whether it is introduced from the inside or the outside,” Commissioner John Hamm said. “There is no place for corrupt personnel at ADOC.”

The ADOC investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
