McDavid, Fla. woman arrested March 18 on possession of drug charges

A McDavid, Fla. woman was arrested March 18 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Rebel Howard, 53, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana II, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription drugs.
McMann said at approximately 7:15 p.m. on the day of the arrest, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on South Presley Street in reference to the vehicle displaying a license plate that was registered to a different vehicle. He added that the vehicle was registered to the driver, later identified as Howard.
“A K-9 officer arrived on the scene and deployed the K-9, which alerted on the vehicle,” McMann said. “During the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered prescription medication that was not prescribed to Howard, xanax, a small amount of marijuana, and items used to package narcotics.”
Howard was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
