Routine search of Holman Correctional visitor leads to arrest on contraband charges

A visitor to Holman Correctional Facility was arrested on contraband charges March 23, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.

Public Information Officer Kelly Betts said Kimberly Damas was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana I, promoting prison contraband II and attempting to commit a controlled substance crime.

Betts said during a routine search of Damas, a small bag containing approximately 22 grams of marijuana was discovered.

Damas was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton. The Law Enforcement Services Division investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
