An Atmore woman was arrested March 29 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Kendra Jones, 37, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana II.
McMann said at approximately 1:05 p.m. Saturday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 31 after recognizing the driver, Jones, driving with a suspended driver’s license.
“A K-9 officer responded to the scene and deployed his K-9, which alerted on the vehicle,” McMann said. “During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the officers discovered a glass pipe with a crystal-like residue that field tested positive for methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.”
Jones was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
