Atmore firefighters battled a Jones Street blaze March 28.

Chief Ronald Peebles said the abandoned house was declared a total loss, and was fully involved once firefighters arrived.

The AFD was called at 12:26 p.m., and cleared the scene at 3 p.m.

Peebles said nobody lived inside the structure, and the nature of the cause is undetermined.

Peebles said the Poarch Fire Department provided mutual aid.
