An Atmore man was arrested on a domestic violence charge March 31, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jacory Powell, 32, was charged with domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation.
McMann said on Monday at approximately 1:05 a.m., APD officers responded to the 3300 block of Woods Road in reference to a domestic violence complaint.
“When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered evidence indicating the victim had been choked by the victim’s former boyfriend who had left the residence before officers arrived,” McMann said.
McMann added that Powell was soon after located and placed under arrest.
He was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
