An Atmore native is looking for cast members for her Christmas production.

Shortly after the 2024 edition of the Twilight Christmas Parade, Sherese Craft said she wrote a sequel to “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” the well-known holiday classic.

Craft said she’s calling her production “How the Grinch Family Stole Christmas.”
Craft said the play is based on the continuation of the lives of the Grinch and his spouse.

“The Grinch is celebrating Christmas with Martha Mayes’ parents,” Craft said. “You know how the have family drama, and he’s surprised when his actual parents come to visit for Christmas.”

Craft said six characters will make up the play. The Grinch is the main character, along with his and Mayes’ parents.

Craft said she’s looking for those age 20 and older for the production.

Craft said her inspiration for the play came from the movie.

“I came up with the idea because I attended the Christmas parade last year,” she said. “I said, ‘that would be nice to have a play that follows the Christmas parade.’”
