An Eight Mile woman was arrested April 1 on possession of drug and false identification charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

McMann said at approximately 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 21 in reference to the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel.
“During the officer’s interaction with the driver and passenger, the officer noted suspicious behavior,” McMann said. “The officer was given consent to search the vehicle.”
McMann said during a search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a small amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and soboxin, as well as items that are used to ingest narcotics.
“The passenger also provided a false name to the officer knowing she had outstanding arrest warrants through the Mobile County Sheriffs Office for theft of property III and possession of a forged instrument III,” he said.
Andrews was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
