“A K-9 responded to the stop, and alerted on the vehicle and the officers conducted a probable cause search,” McMann said. “The officers did not discover narcotics, but the vehicle had a lingering aroma of marijuana indicating the previous use of marijuana in the vehicle. The officers however did discover a firearm in the vehicle.”

McMann said the officer attempted to check the criminal history of the driver, Crenshaw.

“The officer was able to view that Crenshaw has a prior conviction for domestic violence, but was unable to access the disposition of the court case,” he said. “The firearm was seized and the case was forwarded to an investigator.”

McMann said the investigator was able to view the necessary documents, and obtained an arrest warrant for Crenshaw for certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
