EA’s boys JV track, field team finishes fourth at AISA Class 1A state meet Saturday

Escambia Academy’s boys junior varsity track and field team finished fourth during the AISA Class 1A state meet on Saturday.

The Cougars compiled 44 points during the day. Abbeville Christian won the state title with 187 points.

In girls action, the Lady Cougars finishes seventh with 21 points.

Seventeen teams competed at the state meet.

EA athletes who placed in the top 10 during the meet included:

 

  • Girls long jump – Camille Nichols, fifth, 13-11.50
  • Boys long jump – Braylon Snow, second, 16-2
  • Girls shot put – Cleria McCants, sixth, 24-8; and Destiny Daily, 10th, 21-9.50
  • Boys 110-meter hurdles – Cameron Perkins, third, 20.37 seconds
  • Boys triple jump – Perkins, first place, 34-8.50
  • Girls 300-meter hurdles – Nichols, fifth place, 1 minute, 00.77 seconds
  • Girls 4×100-meter relay – EA, third place, 1:00.46
  • Girls 200-meter dash – Kimorah Goldsmith, fifth place, 31.04 seconds
  • Boys 200-meter dash – Perkins, second place, 25.16 seconds
  • Boys 100-meter dash – Perkins, first place, 12.29 seconds
  • Boys 3200-meter run – Jonah Carter, seventh place, 16:26.69
