Northview’s Bryant Mason threw a one hitter, striking out five in 5.0 innings of work to help lead the Chiefs to a 4-2 victory over Baker, Fla. tonight in district action in Bratt, Fla.

Mason was dominant on the mound from the jump, putting out the first six batters he faced during the contest.

The Chiefs got on the board in the bottom of the first on a sac fly from Jase Portwood that scored Grayden Sheffield.

Later in the third inning, Kelan Jury scored on a double play, and Mason hit an RBI double to score Brady Smith.

Chavers drove in the final run on an RBI single to score Sheffield.

Three Baker players had one hit each.

In softball action, the Lady Chiefs beat West Florida 11-1 in a complete game.

NHS scored one run in the first inning, four runs each in the fourth and sixth, and two runs in the seventh.

Two Lady Chiefs led the team with three RBIs each. Jamison Gilman went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a run, and Addyson Bolen went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs. Bailey Burkette went 2-for-3; Daviona Randolph went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run; Avery Stuckey went 3-for-4 with two runs; and Aubrey Hadley went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.

Northview’s Kylee Langham, Mikayla McAnally and Riley Brooks had one hit each. Brooks and Langham had an RBI each for the Lady Chiefs.
