Bay Minette man arrested April 18 on possession of drug charges

A Bay Minette man was arrested April 18 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Charlie Crook, 37, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana II and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Friday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 31 in reference to the officer observing a vehicle being driven on the shoulder for an extended period of time. The officer then made contact with Crook, the driver.

“While checking the status of Crook’s driver license, the officer discovered that Crook had outstanding arrest warrants with Atmore Police Department and Bay Minette Police Department,” McMann said. “During a search of Crook’s person and his vehicle, the officers discovered he was in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and items used to ingest narcotics.”

Crook was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
