H. Wayne Moring, 82, of Atmore, passed away on April 17, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.

Wayne was born Jan. 26, 1943, in Atmore, to Henry Moring and Ruby Langham Moring.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; his father in law and mother in law, Edmund and Ann Witkiewicz; his sister in law, Marguerite Witkiewicz; and by his sister, Margaret Jeter (April 18, 2025).

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Marcella Witkiewicz Moring; his daughter, Emily (Monti) Sommer of Atmore; his four grandchildren, Jackson Sommer, Ella Sommer, Anna Sommer and Piper Sommer; brother in law, Rayford Earl Jeter; three nieces, Dianne (Robin) Baggett, Linda (Gary) West and Rachel (Tim) Robinson; and two nephews, Tom Jeter and Randy (Brenda) Jeter.

The funeral will be held at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel in Atmore on April 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation for friends will be held on April 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made in Wayne’s memory to the Atmore Public Library and the American Cancer Society.
