A shooting occurred on April 26 near the 300 block of East School Street, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said at approximately 4:45 Saturday morning, APD officers heard shots being fired in the area east of South Main Street, and began heading in that direction.

“Several 911 calls were received by the dispatcher soon after, and officers responded to the 300 block of East School Street,” McMann said. “One of the responding officers observed four juveniles close to the area, and managed to detain three of the subjects. They were interviewed, and released to their parents after claiming no knowledge of the incident and were not armed.
