Northview’s Jamison Gilman struck out 10 and allowed three earned runs on five hits in a complete game to help lead the Lady Chiefs to a 8-3 victory over Paxton, Fla. Tuesday night in the semifinals of the FHSAA Rural District 1 Tournament.
With the victory, NHS advances to the district championship, where it will face rival Jay on Thursday night in Jay. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
Northview scored one run each in the first through third innings and five runs in the fifth.
Daviona Randolph and Mikayla McAnally went 2-for-4 each to lead the Lady Chiefs. McAnally had a homerun in the game.
Avery Stuckey went 1-for-4 with two RBI for NHS. Gilman went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Riley Brooks went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
