A Frisco City man was arrested May 3 on possession of marijuana charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Ian Chaves, 29, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana I.
McMann said on Saturday at approximately 9:30 a.m., an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Jack Springs Road in reference to the officer observing the driver commit a moving violation. The officer then contacted the driver, Chaves.
“Upon making contact with Chaves, the officer noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” McMann said. “The officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle, and discovered several grams of marijuana. Chaves has a previous conviction for possession of marijuana II, and his driver’s license has been revoked.”
Chaves was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
