Atmore Police Department officials are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night at the intersection of North Main Street and Howard Street.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that APD officers responded to North Main and Howard Street in reference to shots fired into a passing vehicle at approximately 10:30 p.m.

“A local business was also struck by gunfire,” McMann said. “No one was injured.”

McMann said officers recovered spent shell casings from different caliber firearms. He added the incident is under investigation.
