An Atmore man was arrested May 7 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jaylan Brown, 24, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana I and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, APD narcotics agents and the special response team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of 4^th Street.

“The search warrant had been obtained by an investigator from a neighboring agency,” McMann said. “During the search of the residence, the investigators discovered a large amount of marijuana and items used to package narcotics.”

Brown was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
