County BOE approves out-of-state trips for ECHS students during special-called meeting Thursday

The Escambia County Board of Education approved two out-of-state trips for selected Escambia County High School students during a special-called meeting on May 8 in Atmore.

The board approved an out-of-state trip for selected students at ECHS as an ACT incentive to Six Flags over Georgia on May 9; and approved an out-of-state trip for selected students at ECHS for an attendance incentive to attend the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Fla. on May 14.

In other business, the board:

  • approved the purchase of additional teacher resource kits and teacher editions for grades K-12 for the science textbook adoption from Publisher’s Warehouse for $32,138.76;
  • approved the purchase of SMART Stat Basic patient simulator with iPad from Pocket Nurse for $19,899.45, to be paid out of O&M Supplemental allocation;
  • approved the contract with Sun Flooring for the installation of new vinyl plank flooring at A.C. Moore Primary School for $110,925, to be paid out of A&T Funds;
  • approved the following personnel recommendations:
