Escambia Academy senior Brit Smith signed a rodeo scholarship to Cisco College (Texas) during a ceremony Friday morning in the school gym.

Smith thanked his parents, teachers and family for their support, as well as thanking the Canoe School for allowing him to compete in many rodeos.

He also thanked Jesus Christ.

Smith is the son of Miles (Lia) Smith and Tracey Nelson; the grandson of Dean Smith and Connie Hale; and brother to Liam Nelson.
