Public Information Officer Sgt. “Officers recovered 47 spent shell casings from two different caliber firearms,” McMann said. “Investigators were able to identify all four suspects during the course of the investigation. Due to (the juvenile’s) age we are unable to release his name in accordance with Alabama statutes. He was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.”

McMann said investigators have signed warrants of arrest for three other suspects, and are actively being searched for. One suspect is a juvenile, the other two suspects are adults, he added.

“Investigators also have been investigating a shooting that occurred on April 26, 2025 in which multiple shots were fired into a residence located in the 300 block East School Street,” he said. “Investigators were able to identify the same 17-year-old juvenile as one of the suspects involved in that shooting. He has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling in reference to that shooting.”

McMann said investigators have also signed warrants of arrest for two additional suspects in the shooting on East School Street who are juveniles.
