3 juveniles, 2 adults from Atmore arrested on attempted murder, discharging firearm charges from Main Street shooting on May 7

Three juveniles and two adults from Atmore have been arrested on attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and unoccupied charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that the three 17-year-old juveniles have been arrested and charged as adults; and Dexter Adams, 18, and Ryeheem Banks, 21, have also been arrested.

They have all been charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building. They have all been transported to the Escambia County, AL Detention Center.

McMann said on May 7, 2025 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Atmore police officers responded to North Main and Howard Street in reference to shots fired into a passing vehicle. The Wing and Burger Box restaurant was also struck by gunfire. No one was injured.

McMann said officers recovered 47 spent shell casings from two different caliber firearms. Investigators were able to identify the suspects during the course of the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible, McMann said.

Additionally, investigators also have been investigating a shooting that occurred on April 26, 2025 in which multiple shots were fired into a residence located in the 300 block of East School Street.

Investigators were able to identify two 17-year-old juveniles as the suspects, who were also charged in the shooting on May 7.

They have been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling in reference to that shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
