An Atmore man was arrested May 13 on possession of drugs and tampering charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Keith Brown, 51, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
McMann said at approximately 7:30 a.m. on the day of the arrest, an APD officer on routine patrol recognized a subject wanted by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Brown.
McMann said Brown was walking down Martin Luther King Avenue.
“As the officer approached Brown, the officer heard something hit the ground and then observed the object roll into the grass,” McMann said. “The object was a pipe, which contained a white substance that field tested positive for crack cocaine.”
Brown was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
