A Flomaton woman was arrested May 13 on possession of drugs and tampering charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Tessa McClure, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
McMann said at approximately 12:35 a.m. on May 13, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in reference to the vehicle failing to display a license plate. The officer then contacted the driver and the passenger, later identified as McClure.
“During the officer’s interaction with the driver and McClure, the officer noted suspicious behavior and was granted consent to search the vehicle,” McMann said. “During the search of the vehicle the officer discovered a small amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and admitted she had a small amount of methamphetamine hidden in her body.”
McClure transported to the Escambia County, AL Detention Center.
