Mobile man, juvenile arrested May 10 on theft of property charges

A Mobile man and a juvenile were arrested May 10 on theft of property, breaking and entering a vehicle and receiving stolen property charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said at approximately 5:55 a.m. on May 10, APD officers responded to the 200 block of South Trammell Street in reference to an attempted theft of a vehicle.

“The responding officers were provided a description of the suspects who ran from the scene, and began searching the area,” McMann said. “An officer spotted the suspects, later identified as Ronal Isaac, 19, of Mobile, and a 17-year-old juvenile, also of Mobile, near Trammell Street and Highway 31. Isaac and the juvenile immediately ran when the officer approached them. They were both taken into custody after a foot pursuit.”

McMann said during the investigation, officers discovered that Isaac and the juvenile allegedly broke into multiple vehicles and damaged the steering columns and several vehicles in an attempt to steal the vehicles. They were able to start two of the vehicle but were unable to get very far before the vehicles became disabled, he added.

McMann said officers also recovered the vehicle they had stolen in Mobile and driven to Atmore.

Isaac and the juvenile were charged with two counts of theft of property I, five counts of attempted theft of property I, seven counts of breaking and entering a vehicle, one count of receiving stolen property I, one count of possession of burglary tools and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.

Isaac was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center and the juvenile was turned over to the Juvenile Probation Officers.
