A Walnut Hill, Fla. woman was arrested May 10 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Tebyl Presley, 53, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McMann said on May 10 at approximately 11:40 p.m., an APD officer conducted a traffic stop when he observed a vehicle suddenly begin backing down Rockaway Creek Road into a parking lot.
“The vehicle was not displaying a tag,” McMann said. “The officer contacted the driver, who was later identified as Presley.”
McMann said during the officer’s interaction with Presley, he noted suspicious behavior and requested a K-9 officer respond to the scene. The K-9 alerted on the vehicle and the officer conducted a probable cause search, he added.
“During the search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a small amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine and items used to ingest narcotics,” he said.
Presley was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
