Notice of election for municipal officers released Monday

City of Atmore officials announced Monday the upcoming election of municipal officers.

City Clerk Becca Smith said in a release that notice was given that on Tues., Aug. 26, 2025, an election for the purpose of electing a mayor and a councilmember for each district, Districts 1-5, will be held.

Additionally, all registered and qualified electors of the state, who reside within the corporate limits of Atmore, and have resided therein for 30 days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct, which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of Atmore in which the elector resides, will be authorized to participate in the election, the release said.

Any run-off election will be held on Tues., Sept. 23, 2025.

The polls will opened at 7 a.m. and remain open until 7 p.m. at the regular polling or voting places in Atmore as follows:

  • District 1 – Atmore Public Library, 700 E. Church St., Atmore, AL 36502
  • District 2 – Atmore City Hall, 201 E. Louisville Ave., Atmore, AL 36502
  • District 3 – Senior Citizens Building, 1107 N. Main St., Atmore, AL 36502
  • District 4 – Atmore City Hall Council Chambers, 201 E. Louisville Ave., Atmore, AL 36502
  • District 5 – Escambia County Work Shop, 351 Jack Springs Rd., Atmore, AL 36502

 

Any qualified elector who will have resided within Atmore and within the district from which he or she seeks election, for a period of at least 90 days on August 26, 2025 may qualify to run for office by filing the appropriate forms and paying any appropriate fees, as otherwise provided by law.
