A Walnut Hill, Fla. woman died May 30 from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash on Monroe County 45 near Matheny Road, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Senior Trooper Joshua Thompson said in a release that the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Thurs., May 15.
Thomas said Mary R. Michele Burt, 62, was critically injured when the 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan she was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.
“Burt was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, and was ejected,” Thompson said. “Burt was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., for treatment. On Friday, May 30, Burt succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased.”
The crash occurred approximately 8 miles southeast of Frisco City, Thompson said.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
