An Atmore man turned himself into authorities and arrested on attempted murder and firearm charges, according to officials.
Atmore Poilce Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that the final suspect in the Main Street and Howard Street shooting turned himself into the department recently. Lemareyoun Moore, 19, has been charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building.
McMann said on May 7 at approximately 10:30 p.m., APD officers responded to North Main and Howard Street in reference to shots fired into a passing vehicle. The Wing and Burger Box restaurant was also struck by gunfire. No one was injured, he added.
“Officers recovered 47 spent shell casings from two different caliber firearms,” McMann said. “Investigators were able to identify the suspects during the course of the investigation. Three 17-year-old juveniles, all from Atmore, have been arrested and charged as adults. Dexter Adams, 18, and Ryeheem Banks, 21, both of Atmore, have also been placed under arrest. They have all been charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied building. They were all transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.”
McMann said investigators also have been investigating a shooting that occurred on April 26, 2025 in which multiple shots were fired into a residence located in the 300 block of East School Street.
“Investigators were able to identify two 17-year-old juveniles as the suspects, who were also charged in the shooting on May 7,” McMann said. “They have been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling in reference to that shooting.”
