2 Texas men arrested June 12 on drug trafficking charges; 22 pounds of cocaine seized

Two Texas men were arrested June 12 on drug trafficking charges, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Heath Jackson said in a release that Dominick Balli and James Godbe, were arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking and booked into the county detention center.

Jackson said on Thursday, the ECSO’s criminal interdiction unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2023 Cadillac XTX on Interstate 65 northbound at the 66-mile marker.

The traffic stop yielded a seizure of approximately 22 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of $250,000, Jackson said.

Balli and Godbe are being held on a $1 million bond.

“The investigation is ongoing by the Escambia County Narcotics Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA),” Jackson said. “This enforcement action highlights the sheriff’s office’s commitment to eradicating narcotics not only in the local community, but also any drug trafficking through our country.”
