James Edward “Eddie” Baker, 71, of Atmore, passed away at Atmore Community Hospital on June 13, 2025.

Eddie was born on June 30, 1953 in Atmore to Winston “Buddy” Baker and Jerryline “Janice” McDonald.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Winston “Buddy” Clark Baker and Jerryline “Janice” McDonald Baker.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Smith Baker; his son, Troy (Summerlyn) Baker of Orange Beach; brother, Wayne (Diane) Baker of Bratt, Fla.; sister, Denise (Paul) Chason of Bratt; his grandsons, Kaleb Baker and Rook Gwin; nieces, Miranda Brooks and Christy Black; nephews, Ryan Chason, Kevin Chason, and Scott Baker; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Eddie were held on June 17, 2025 at Robinsonville Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Smith officiating. Internment followed in Robinsonville Baptist Church Cemetery in Robinsonville.

Pallbearers were Brandon Smith, Scott Baker, Ryan Chason, Jeremy Ray and Michael Strawbridge. Honorary pallbearers were Don Word and Bobby Wooten.

In Leu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Robinsonville Baptist Church Cemetery fund.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
