Brewton man arrested June 17 on theft charges

A Brewton man was arrested June 17 on theft charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Marshall Shaddix, 52, was arrested on a warrant for theft of property I and illegal possession of a credit/debit card.

McMann said on March 13, 2025, an APD investigator was contacted in reference to the unauthorized use of a credit card.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect, later identified as Marshall Shaddix, age 52, of Brewton, obtained the victim’s debit card number and made several thousand dollars of fraudulent charges,” McMann said.

Shaddix was taken into custody and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center on June 17, 2025.
