City adopts resolution for low bid on roadway improvements at Fairview Cemetery

The Atmore City Council adopted a resolution awarding a low bid to a local contractor for Fairview Cemetery roadway improvements during its regular meeting on June 23.
The low bid went to TripTek Construction for $184,715.
In other business, the city:
- approved a bid and agreement with Davison Fuels and Oils LLC for gasoline and diesel;
- approved Jeremy Smith of Deep South Rodeo Productions LLC to hold the second annual Pro Rodeo out at Rivercane on Oct. 17-18 at 7:30 p.m.;
- approved Don Taylor’s requested to hold a Buy Back the Block festival on Aug. 2 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Carver Avenue and 4th, and Carver and MLK Avenue;
- approved Tawana Thomas’s request to hold a Breast Cancer Parade on Oct. 11, using the same route as the annual Twilight Christmas Parade;
- approved Atmore Apostolic Church’s request to use Boxcar Willie for an outreach opportunity event on Sept. 26 from 5 p.m. until;
- approved a restaurant retail liquor application for Grizzly Pizza and Wings;
- approved Atmore Community Hospital’s request to use Tom Byrne Park for a health fair and youth well being event on Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and,
- approved Carolos’ McNeil’s request to hold his car show at the Chick-A-Dee parking lot.
