“Investigators questioned Jalen Pugh, age 24, of Atmore,” McMann said. “Pugh admitted to being at the scene, but declined to answer any further questions.”

Pugh was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

McMann said this investigation remains open to determine Pugh’s alleged full involvement in the street race preceding the shooting, and his actions after the incident.

McMann said additional charged are possibly forthcoming, and the shooting incident itself remains open.

In the last nine days, the APD has made six arrests regarding the shooting incident, which claimed the life of a 17 year old, and injured another.
