Dixie Disciples perform at West End Baptist

The Dixie Disciples will perform at West End Baptist Church on Dec. 11.

The West End Baptist Church will be celebrating its 47th Anniversary on December 11 at 10:30 a.m. with the Dixie Disciples and followed by dinner on the grounds. The community is invited and encouraged to come and help us celebrate the blessings God has given to the West End Baptist Church, located at 100 West End Lane, Atmore.

Woody Allison began this work in 1964 and continued to pastor here for over 45 years. We appreciate his love for the Lord and the people of West End Baptist Church. We would like to invite the former members to come and celebrate this time with us.

The Dixie Disciples have been playing and singing gospel music for over twelve years. They are based out of Thomasville, Alabama. Each group member is a devoted member of a local church and each works a full time job. The group plays and sings a mix of songs dating back to the 1800s and up to modern songs made popular by southern gospel, bluegrass gospel and country gospel artists. They write some of their songs. If you enjoy old hymns, southern gospel harmony and modern bluegrass gospel, you will enjoy this group.

Our pastor, Carl Ropke, and the congregation at West End Baptist Church extend a heart- felt invitation to the community to come and be blessed and share this time. The meal after will consist of grilled pork chops, chicken sausage and all the fixings by our great cooks (members of the church).
