Atmore teens injured in accident

Seat belts possibly helped save the lives of four Atmore teenagers involved in an automobile accident Friday night in Bratt, Fla.

The four teenagers were traveling in a 1992 Pontiac Bonneville driven by 19-year-old Mekell Rivers on West Hwy. 4 when Rivers allegedly lost control and the car left the road and overturned several times coming to rest in a field.

Rivers along with his passengers 19-year-old Rico Stallworth, 19-year-old Frederick McDowell and 18-year-old Kalene Anderson were all transported to Atmore Community Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident and no charges have been field at this time.
