Charges pending for Atmore woman following early morning car wreckPublished 4:10pm Sunday, January 22, 2012
An Atmore woman may be facing charges in Escambia County Florida after causing a two-vehicle accident early Friday morning on Highway 29, south of Cox Road.
Anna Maria Rae Lynn, 27, was traveling north on Highway 29 in a 1999 Ford Taurus Friday at approximately 3:35 a.m. when her vehicle began drifting off the road according to the Florida High Way Patrol accident report. Lynn’s vehicle collided with a 2010 Mazda parked legally on the east shoulder of the road, facing north.
The impact of the collision pushed the Mazda, driven by Dwayne K. Fountain, 22, of Florence, into a nearby wooded area. Lynn’s vehicle came to a stop on the inside lane of the roadway.
Both drivers were transported to Jay Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Lynn’s passenger, Elizabeth A. Skelton, 29, of Atmore, was not injured.
At this time authorities believe alcohol was a factor in Friday’s accident.
