YMCA selling tickets for April raffle

Three lucky winners will have a chance to land some interesting prizes in the Atmore Area YMCA’s raffle that will be held on Saturday, April 28.

The Y is currently selling raffle tickets with first, second and third prizes that will be announced at this year’s Healthy Kids Day that will be held in the field behind the Y building.

Money raised through the raffle will be used in connection with the matching donation that the Y received last year, Atmore Area YMCA Manager Ross Terry said.

“Our raffle is being held to raise funds that will be used towards our matching donation from the Poarch Band of Creek Indians,” he said. “The funds will be used towards various projects, scholarships for members, renovations or whatever the board deems necessary.”

The prizes in the raffle include the first-prize Big Green Egg, the second prize of two spa service gift cards from Wind Creek Casino & Hotel and third prize is dinner for two at the Alabama Wing House.

Having enticing items to raffle is pushing Terry and the Board of Directors from the YMCA to sell as many tickets as possible.
The prizes are compliments of the work the YMCA has tried to do, Terry said.

“Our prizes are really great,” he said. “It’s nice that some of our area businesses ponied up to donate some great items to raffle up. It makes us feel that we are doing something good at the Y if they are willing to help us like this.”

Tickets for the raffle are $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20. Winners do not have to be present to win any of the prizes.
