Three Atmore area men are each facing multiple drug charges after being arrested Friday night in Canoe for allegedly operating a meth lab.

Jack Cunningham, 23, Christian Shenk, 41, and Steven Knowles, 32, were each taken into custody after law enforcement officers found the

men on the scene of what was believed to be a working lab.

Agent Scott Walden, of the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force, said he received information that three men were cooking methamphetamines in a blue, abandoned home off Lowery Road in Canoe.

“We made contact with the vehicle the men were supposedly driving,” Walden said. “At that point they drove back to the house, where we believe they had just finished a cook process.”

Walden said agents found a 20-ounce bottle with what appeared to be a botched attempt to cook methamphetamines, as well as multiple ingredients and tools typically used in the process.

Each of the three men were charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance – methamphetamines; conspiracy to commit a controlled substance crime; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As of Tuesday evening, all three men remained in the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton on $60,000 bond each.
