Atmore man gets DUI after driving into home

An alcohol related accident left an Atmore man in the hospital and a home in Robinsonville with extensive damage Saturday night after a drunk driver plowed into it.

According to Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook, Rodney Latwarn James, 32, of Atmore, was charged with driving under the influence after his 2007 Dodge ran off the road and into a mobile home on Robinsonville Road at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday.

Cook said James was taken by Lifeflight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. No one in the home was injured.
