Two injured in head-on collision

A woman driving a red minivan was taken by Lifeflight to a local hospital after colliding head-on with a dump truck Monday morning on Jack Springs Road.

A woman driving a red minivan was taken by Lifeflight to a local hospital after colliding head-on with a dump truck Monday morning on Jack Springs Road.

A head-on collision Monday morning on Jack Springs Road left one motorist and her passenger injured after her minivan slammed into a dump truck.

The collision occurred just after 8 a.m. just south of McCullough. The driver of the dump truck, Jeffery Brooks, of Atmore, was forced off the road and his Mack truck came to rest in a nearby wooded area. Brooks escaped the crash without injury. The driver of the 2002 Dodge minivan, Katrena Reynolds, 34, of Atmore was taken by Lifeflight to a local hospital. Her passenger, Kadaisjah Roberts, 15, was also injured in the accident.

The Poarch Police Department, Poarch Fire Department and Alabama State Troopers Office responded to the scene.

Although it is not yet known what caused the accident, the wreck remains under investigation by Trooper Todd Hanks.
