The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for a “drive-by style shooting” Saturday morning in Freemanville, Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said.

Lambert said the shooting took place at approximately 2 a.m. at Thymes Place, a bar located on Freemanville Road. Lambert said two people were injured by the gunfire.

“One person was shot once and is listed in stable condition at a local hospital,” he said. “A second person was shot multiple times and was taken by LifeFlight to a hospital in Pensacola.”

Lambert said, while the second victim’s injuries were life-threatening, the person’s condition is now listed as serious and not critical.

Lambert said witnesses on the scene reported the gunfire came from a small, dark gray-colored car.

Lambert is asking that anyone with any information call the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department at (251) 809-0741 or Atmore Police Department at (251) 368-9141.
