Three Escambia Academy students got a little special recognition during last week’s “Duck Dynasty day.”

Because it was EA’s homecoming week, each day of the week had a special theme, and Wednesday’s was “Duck Dynasty day,” where students came dressed as their favorite characters from the show.

Braiden’s mother, Sybil Walker, took a photo of the three costumed boys and then posted it to the official Duck Dynasty Facebook page. It quickly gained more than 8,000 “likes” and more than 650 “shares,” and even drew a comment from the Robertson family themselves, who posted, “just like true Robertsons.”

The boys were also featured on the Wednesday evening news broadcast for WALA Channel 10 in Mobile.

Walker said that she was also contacted by a news station in Monroe, La., which invited the boys to participate in a Dec. 14 look-alike contest that will be judged by John Luke and Sadie Robertson, of the TV show. The Robertsons live in West Monroe, La.

“We never expected for it to get this big over something we did for fun,” she said. “The boys had a blast.”
