United Bank has completed its third annual “United We Can” food drive, which is designed to assist needy families across southwest Alabama and northwest Florida, according to a United Bank press release.
The food drive offered employees, customers and local residents the opportunity to donate canned and boxed goods at United Bank branches.
United Bank is pleased to announce that the food drive effort led to more than 2,200 pounds of food collected. The donations remained in each branch’s local area and were delivered to designated food pantries and service agencies to help fight hunger during the holiday season.
“We are extremely pleased with the results of the food drive and appreciate everyone in the community for coming together to fight hunger,” said Bob Jones, president and CEO of United Bank. “As a community bank, United understands that when we help meet even the most basic needs, we give families the chance at a better tomorrow for parents and their children.”
