Pastors, please help with ‘Day of Prayer’

Published 7:16 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2014

Dear Atmore and surrounding area pastors,

The Atmore Area National Day of Prayer Committee invites you to be involved in the upcoming observance of National Day of Prayer, on May 1, 2014.

The theme this year is “One Voice United in Prayer,” based on Romans 15:6, “So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Anyone can sponsor a National Day of Prayer event; ours is a Christian observance.

We appreciate the spiritual leadership you provide our community. Our desire is to come along side and provide a meaningful National Day of Prayer observance that will be a blessing to you and your church family. Our committee is made up of people who represent several area churches. We invite you to have a representative from your church as a participant or as a contact person.

The main event of the day will be the prayer service, Bible reading, and children’s service, held at 5:30 p.m. at the Escambia County High School gymnasium. We have some new opportunities for prayer this year and will publicize them when details are finalized.

I will be glad to mail or e-mail you a reproducible bulletin insert, a flyer, and Bible reading information. You may contact me at sharonkeesler@hotmail.com or by calling (850) 327-4839. If you send your e-mail address, I will update you occasionally with information and reminders. If you have any questions about participating in the Bible Reading Event, contact JoAnn Martin at (251) 368-5659.

This is a volunteer effort that has been financed mainly by the volunteers who believe in the importance of prayer. As we continue to grow and expand our outreach, so does our need for financial assistance. If you could help with $10 or any donation amount, it will be a great help to us. You can make your check payable to “Atmore National Day of Prayer,” and mail it to “Sandra Johnson, 511 E. McRae St., Atmore, AL 36502.”

Prayerfully yours,
Sharon Keesler,
Coordinator, Atmore Area National Day of Prayer
