The Atmore Police Department is currently investigating several recent residential burglaries in the Atmore area, and the APD is requesting assistance from the community to solve these cases.

Vandals have targeted areas around Old Bratt Road, Davis Drive, McRae Street and Tatum Avenue, according to information provided by the APD.

Most of the cases reported involve vacant homes, or houses currently on the market for sale. The houses have been forcefully entered, usually through the rear door.

Once inside the home, the thieves have stolen property including washing machines, dryers, televisions, jewelry and money.

The APD is encouraging citizens to report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. Anyone with any information concerning these crimes is asked to call the APD at (251) 368-9141.
