A Brewton man was injured in a crash around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, at the intersection of Craig Street and Main Street.

Christopher Ramer, 22, of Atmore, said he was driving his Chevrolet Blazer west on Craig Street and was traveling across the Main Street intersection when his vehicle collided with a black Ford Mustang traveling north on Main Street.

The driver of the Mustang, 65-year-old Robert Boone of Brewton, was injured and transported to Atmore Community Hospital, complaining of wrist pain. Neither Ramer nor his passenger, Scott Harris, were hurt in the crash.

Ramer said he had a green light at the intersection.

“I wasn’t even able to touch the brakes; it happened so quickly,” Ramer said.

Officer Leonard Conley of the Atmore Police Department said that the vehicle in front of the Mustang turned right onto East Craig Street at the red light, and likely Boone believed that he could proceed through the intersection.
