A Perdido man died Friday in a single-vehicle crash near Perdido School.

According to Trooper Kevin Cook of the Alabama State Troopers, 43-year-old William Jonathan Ammons of Perdido was killed when the 2007 Honda Civic he was driving left the roadway, struck a culvert and crashed into a tree. Ammons was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash took place at 5 a.m. on Baldwin County Road 47, about 15 miles north of Bay Minette.

No further information is available, as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
